First Australian Swift Solo

Slowly but surely………

Posted on Monday 14 August 2006

I was really hoping to have the wood stripped along the wings of the boat this weekend. It didn’t happen for 2 reasons.

  • I had forgotten about one of the fundemental rules that I have discovered about boat building - those jobs that you think will be quick are slow and conversely the jobs that you think will be really tricky are pretty straightforward. I’m also being careful with my work here as it will be the finished product in full view.
  • I weakened to temptation and took the 59er for a sail - this decision was made easier for me as my wife was filling the house up with women for a “baby shower” for a friend!

Here are some photos of the progress as at this morning…………

Hopefully I can finish this job this week.
